Camouflage Dress

The camouflage dress is still a rage. More women are opting to jump in on the fun with camo wear. Whether they are choosing it for Prom, weddings or casual wear, the articles of clothing and accessories suggests independent spirit.

For the history buff, the term camouflage comes from the French word camoufler. It means to conceal or disguise something or someone. It was first introduced by the French army in WW1. In the mid 1940’s pinup girls were photographed in camo and distributed to troops.

A fabric that was designed and used to make its user invisible is making fashion statements. For many years the industry has been mixing and matching military camo for high end clothes as well as simple tees and everything in between. No longer is camo simply for outdoorsmen and hunting enthusiasts.

The Mosey Oak pattern, so popular, is not the only pattern or color available. At Wikipedia you can see a comprehensive list of camo patterns and where they originated.

The left photo shows the Mosey Oak pattern in a short version camo that was worn to Homecoming this past fall. The right photo shows Angie in a Timber Snowfall camo pattern which she will be wearing for Prom this spring. Both styles were modeled at the Bridal Fair style show in January.
